On Monday 3rd December, Leaving Cert Applied Hotel Catering and Tourism students travelled to Blarney Castle, Co. Cork with their teacher Ms Power. This trip was organised as part of their key assignment for their Leaving Certificate. Students learned of the history of Blarney Castle. Blarney Castle was built nearly six hundred years ago by one of Ireland's greatest chieftains, Cormac MacCarthy, and has been attracting attention beyond Munster ever since. Over the last few hundred years, millions have flocked to Blarney, making it a world landmark and one of Ireland's greatest treasures. The Blarney Stone, the legendary Stone of Eloquence, found at the top of our Tower. Kiss it and you'll never again be lost for words. After our trip to Blarney, a short trip to Mahon Point for lunch and some pre- Christmas shopping was enjoyed.
