Dungarvan College's Library is one of thirty high quality school libraries in the country established as part of a literacy research project which is being run by the City of Dublin VEC Curriculum Development Unit.
This large, bright, spacious room stocks on excellent selection of modern books, catering for a wide range of interests and reading ability levels. Networked Computers with internet access makes this a thoroughly modern facility.
Library classes are integrated into the timetable so that students can be instructed in information seeking skills using both text and electronic mediums. Students are also encouraged to visit the library at lunchtime.
A full-time librarian, Jessica Whelan manages the library and facilitates the library sessions in conjunction with the teacher of the visiting class group.
