Practical Beekeeping for Beginners

Level: Beginners

Description: There are 6 nights of instruction in Beekeeping in Dungarvan College followed by four practical hive opening sessions.

Course Content: Topics covered will include: Introduction to Bees & Honey, The life of the honeybee, Swarming, The Beekeeper’s Year, Diseases, etc.

Tutor: Tutors from Co. Waterford Beekeepers’ Association

Fee: €125 (+€12 associate membership fee payable to beekeepers on the first night)

Duration: 10 weeks (6 weeks classroom-based and 4 weeks Apiary based)

Start Date: 5th February 2019

Class Time: 7:30pm - 9:30pm.

Day: Tuesday

The prime aim of Post Leaving Cert Courses is to prepare students for entry to the workforce or to further education and training. more
Progression to WIT
Students from Dungarvan College who meet the eligibility requirements, may apply for preferential entry to WIT.
