Bookkeeping Manual and Computerised

Level: QQI Level 5

Description: The purpose of this award is to equip the learner with the knowledge, skill and competence to prepare financial statements for a range of organisations both manually and using integrated accounting software.

Course Content: key terminology associated with bookkeeping - advantages and disadvantages of manual and computerised accounts - inputting invoices, credit notes, bank records, petty cash vouchers - completing daybooks and ledgers - extracting trial balance - preparing bank reconciliation - preparing VAT return - completing tasks manually and using a computerised accounts package - editing and correcting data - printing reports - backing up work
