Our Student Council has been very busy since the beginning of the school year. There are two students from each group on the Student Council. Therefore, we have a great mixture of ages and opinions in our group. We meet during lunch breaks on a regular basis to discuss the items which are on the agenda for our meetings. These items are topics which the students select for discussion. The student representatives gather information from their tutor groups which they then raise for discussion with the rest of the group in our meetings. This information is discussed and then passed on to school management to make them aware of the issues which are of concern to the student cohort. The student representatives are then provided with feedback from management at their next meeting. We find that this process is working very well for us in our school as it promotes student voice in the school as well as creating a positive and co-operative relationship between the students, staff and management of the school.
The Student Council representatives succeeded in obtaining a new water fountain for the students last year. This is a wonderful addition to the school environment.
We would like to thank and congratulate the students for their wonderful contribution to school life.
Keep up the great work!
