Course Description
This programme is designed to give learners the knowledge and practical skills necessary to prepare them for both employment and further studies in a science-related field. The programme will also allow learners the opportunity to complete work experience in a laboratory environment where they can experience the job of a laboratory assistant. This programme is also ideal for learners who are considering further studies in such areas as Biological and Chemical Science, Food Science, Genetics or a Laboratory Apprenticeship programme.

Career Opportunities
Graduates of this programme should be able to access laboratory assistant jobs in both science and pharmaceutical sectors e.g. Eurofins in Dungarvan. Graduates of this programme can also access reserved places on a competitive basis for further college studies under the QQI Progression Links Scheme.
Erasmus
Every year a number of learners have the opportunity to travel to another European country for three weeks of fully funded work experience. The students attend work in their vocational area.
